June 25 - June 29, 2010
The weather has been cool and wet the last few days.
The Alaska King Salmon fishing is getting better and better each day.
We are still fishing the Talkeetna River with decent numbers coming in, daily.
The Alaska King Salmon are ranging from 14-38 Lbs.
We are doing mostly bank fishing for the Alaska King Salmon
so that our anglers have more room to fight and land these fish.


June 21 - June 24, 2010
We have been fishing the Talkeetna River with pretty good success with
back trolling Kwik Fish and bank fishing with corkies and Gamamatsu hooks.
The Alaska King Salmon have been ranging between 16 & 34 Lbs so far.
Both morning and afternoon trips have been producing fish.
Some Alaska Sockeye Salmon have been spotted up in Clear Creek,
along with some Dolly Varden and Rainbow Trout.



June 17, 2010
Periods of light rain. Highs in the 50s. East wind 10 to 15 mph.
We were on the Deshka River today with 3 boats fishing this morning and landed 9 Alaska King Salmon for 15 Anglers and we had 1 boat in the afternoon that landed
3 Alaska King Salmon for 4 anglers.


June 16, 2010
Cloudy with scattered showers. Highs in the mid to upper 50s. Southeast wind 10 to 20 mph
Today we had 2 boats fishing the Deshka River with 12 anglers
and landed 8 Alaska King Salmon.
We also had1 boat fishing the Little Susitna with 4 anglers
and landed 2 Alaska King Salmon.
We will have all 3 boats fishing Deshka River starting tomorrow.

 

June 15, 2010
Cloudy. Intermittent light rain in the morning...then scattered showers in the afternoon. Highs in the 50s. Southeast wind 10 to 25 mph.
We split our boats up to fish The Deshka River and the Little Susitna today.
The Little Susitna River had a few hits, but nothing was landed.
However the Deshka River produced fish.
We had 2 anglers on our morning trip who each got their Alaska King Slamon and we had 5 anglers on the afternoon trip, and they also harvested 1 Alaska King Salmon each.


June 14, 2010
Partly cloudy in the morning with a chance of showers afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s. Light winds S.E.t 15-30 mph in the afternoon.
We fished the Little Susitna this morning and afternoon, and we managed to hook and land a 23 LB Alaska King Salmon on our morning trip.The afternoon trip did not produce any fish.


June 13, 2010
Cloudy with scattered showers in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s to near 70. South wind 10 to 20 mph.
We fish the Little Susitna River this morning and we landed a 26 LB Alaska King Salmon.
The fishing has been slower than normal on this river.
I am sure that some of the resident anglers will agree that alot has ot do with the flood we had in 2006 that washed away alot of Alaska King Salmon egg beds.

June 12, 2010
Mostly cloudy with isolated rain showers. Highs in the 50s.
Wind to 10 mph becoming S.E. 15~25 mph in the afternoon.
This morning we had 2 groups fishing, on the Little Susitna River, with 1 fish landed weighing in at 18 LBs.
One of our anglers hooked and fought a fish and the fish straightened out the hook. That fish had to have had some shoulders on him to straighten out a Gamakatzu hook.
Our afternoon trip had 4 anglers and they hooked a few, but landed nothing.
The weather is still holding out with no rain. It has been cloudy and cooler, however, we could use some rain to bring up the water level of the river.

June 11, 2010
Mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Variable wind 10 mph.
We had 1 morning trip and 1 afternoon trip, today.
In the morning, we hooked a few fish and landed 2. The Alaska King Salmon weighed in at 26 LBs and 12 LBs.
The morning produce a few drops of rain, but it still hasn't been what the report is forecasting.
The afternoon trip produced a few tugs and runs, but no fish were landed.
These fish,on the Little Susitna River, are a bit different acting than normal. Some are very aggressive and some are barely attacking the lures that we use.

June 10, 2010
Decreasing clouds with isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs in the 50s to 60s. Light wind becoming southwest 10-15 mph in the afternoon.
We had taken a total of 8 people fishing this morning, and over 10 fish were hooked,however, only 3 fish were landed. These Alaska King Salmon, caught on the Little Susitna River, ranged from 12-29 LBs and were chrome bright!
This afternoon we had 3 anglers fishing, hooked onto 2 fish and landed 1 of the 2.
It was a Chromer Alaska King Salmon and weighed 26 LBs.
Still, the forecast has been wrong. No rain.

June 9, 2010
Cloudy. Isolated showers in the morning becoming scattered this afternoon. Highs in the 50s. Light winds becoming S.W. 15 mph this afternoon.
Today we had 4 anglers on our morning trip, while fishing the Little Susitna River, and hooked 3 fish and landed 1 of the 3. It was a beautiful 41 LB Alaska King Salmon.
The weather was cool, and the water level has lowered and cleared a bit more.
On our afternoon trip, we had 2 anglers who hooked a few fish, but nothing was landed.
All in all the weather is cooperating with us. The forecasts have been "rain", but no rain has shown on us yet.

June 8, 2010
Cloudy. Isolated showers in the morning...becoming scattered in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. Light winds becoming southwest 15 mph in the afternoon.
Today we had 2 boats fishing in the morning and in the afternoon.
Each boat, for the morning trip, got quite a few bites and was able to hook, fight and land Alaska King Salmon each. One of those weighed in at 12 LBs, and the other very nice one weighed in at 31 LBs.
The weather was cooler and more enjoyable for our anglers today.

June 7, 2010
Rain likely. Highs in the lower to mid 60s. Variable wind to 10 mph.
This morning we had 2 boats fishing with 7 anglers. There were plenty of bites, but only 2 fish were hooked and 1 was landed. The smaller of the 2 was a small 8 LB Alaska King Salmon and the other was a Beautiful, 37 LB Alaska King Salmon. There were a few raindrops on us, but it quit as quickly as it started. The water level is alot lower than it was last week, and is clearing.

June 6, 2010
The temperature on the Little Susitna this morning a cool 44 degrees.
The sun was shining and the weather was great!
We had 4 anglers out with us on our morning trip and we landed a small 10 LB Alaska King Salmon
and a Very Nice 25 Lb Alaska King Salmon. We also had another bite, but we did not manage to hook the fish. Towards the end of the day it was a warm 67 degrees.
On our twilight trip, we had 5 anglers and we hooked 3 fish and landed 1 of the 3.
The Alaska King Salmon weighed 12 Lbs and was fresh from the incoming high tide this afternoon.

June 5, 2010
It was a cool day on the river, with scattered rain. The high were in the 60's with a light wind.
We took 3 anglers out this morning and landed a 29 LB. Alaska King Salmon. The other 2 anglers had bites but nothing came of it. The water level on the Little Susitna has lowered and cleared a bit and is looking good.

June 4, 2010
Cloudy with scattered rain showers. Highs in the 50s to lower 60s. Variable wind to 10 mph.
We took 5 anglers out this morning. 3 of the 5 landed Alaska King Salmon.
One being a small Jack at 6 LBs, and the other Alaska King Salmon weighed in at 34 & 41 LBs!
The water in the Little Susitna is clearing and looking more like Alaska Salmon Fishing water.
The weather is supposed to clear up tonight with cooler temps throughout the weekend.

 

June 3, 2010
Occasional light rain. Highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Southeast wind 10 to 20 mph
with local gusts to 30 mph.
Sunrise: 4:26 AM ~ Sunset: 11:26 PM.
The Little Susitna produced 2 small Jack Salmon about 6 & 8 LBs and we also landed a
25 LB Alaska King Salmon on this mornings trip.
The weather cooler with the cloud cover.
The river level is receding and starting to clear up.
Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow.


June 2, 2010
We fished the Little Susitna Riverin the morning and afternoon.
In the morning we had 3 anglers with us and we landed 2 Jacks and a 30LB King Salmon.
In the afternoon, we had 2 anglers, mom and daughter crew, and mom landed a 20LB King Salmon.
GO MOM!!
The weather is still very warm, don't forget sunscreen and plenty of water!


June 1, 2010
The weather is still very warm. Hitting the high 70's daily.
We fished the Little Susitna River today and we landed a few Jacks that were released.
We had some good groups of people with us, that enjoyed catching the small Kings.
With the weather being so unseasonably warm, make sure you bring plenty of water when fishing in the Alaska Sun!
