Two other Alaska fly fishing favorites are the Alaska Dolly Varden and Alaska Arctic Grayling. As the Alaska Arctic Grayling are of the salmon family, they are found and fly fished along with the Alaska Dolly Varden in the spawning waters of the Alaska salmon. The Alaska Dolly Varden and Alaska Arctic Grayling feed on Alaska salmon eggs throughout the summer in preparation for the long winter. Graceful yet scrappy, these alaska trout often weigh as much as 7 lbs.
